BOOKSTORE

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Toiletries (towels & bedding provided)
  • Water bottle/coffee travel mug
  • Musical instruments
  • Prayer book
  • Jacket/warm layers/hat/gloves for walking to dining hall & rec time activities (it can get cold & windy)
  • Swimsuit (for optional indoor pool Saturday)
  • Sledding/ice skating/roller rink gear (weather dependent)
  • Games/art for free time

RECREATION TIME

  • Parents are responsible for rec time supervision of children & Junior youth/youth.
  • YMCA facilities are available during our rec time. Activity Schedule
  • Indoor heated pool (under 18 must have adult in building; lifeguards are on duty)
  • Craft cabin (per craft cost)
  • Roller skating rink (only evening hours after 5:30pm)
  • Gym for basketball, etc. (no black sole shoes)
  • Ice skating (pond by lower road/entrance) – [might not be frozen enough yet]. YMCA has some equipment for rent or bring your own (weather dependent)
  • Sledding hills (bring your own gear – may not be any snow this year!)
  • Hiking (weather dependent)

EVENING PROGRAM – SATURDAY

Art of Storytelling with John Hicks 

MEALS/FOOD:

  • 3 meals per day provided (for overnight guests – day guests may pay per meal at cafteria or bring own food)
  • Cafeteria style with salad bar
  • Snacks provided throughout the day
  • Refrigerator/freezer available for those with dietary or medical needs (day guests are welcome to keep meals in the fridge)

ADULT/YOUTH PROGRAM

Many of our youth will assist with leading each adult/youth class at the Winter School, putting their Institute camp learning into action.

  • Class 1: Individual Refuge (facilitated by Justin & Eve Beilovei with the youth)
  • Class 2: Family Refuge (facilitated by Mahbod Manavi & Kahabi Derefi with the youth)
  • Class 3: Community Refuge (facilitated by Raana Messerschmidt & David Parker with the youth)
  • Class 4: Synthesis & Action

OPTIONAL AFTERNOON CLASSES – Saturday

  • 3-4pm: Study of Recent Guidance led by our youth (in Holy Hill room)
  • Pop up Watercolor class with Marian Kramer (in main meeting room). During rec time, time TBD. Children accompanied by an adult please.
