Translating Thoughts into Action: Walking Together on a Path Toward Race Amity

Only if the efforts to eradicate the bane of prejudice are coherent with the full range of the community’s affairs, only if they arise naturally within the systematic pattern of expansion, community building, and involvement with society, will the American believers expand their capacity, year after year and decade after decade, to make their mark on their community and society and contribute to the high aim set for the Bahá’ís by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to eliminate racial prejudice from the face of the earth.

Friends and Family Encouraged to Attend!
“Walking Together on a Path toward Race Amity and Oneness” is a program created by a task force appointed by The National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States (including a member of the Continental Board of Counselors) and is being studied at Seasonal Schools across the country.

This inter-generational program brings families and communities together to study how race amity is an integral dimension of building community, gain new insights on addressing racial prejudice, and create action plans to carry forward this conversation in our daily activities.

In an atmosphere of openness and joy, conversation on difficult matters becomes possible and constructive.

Together we can build communities that are havens of unity!

The Baha’i schools are open to everyone. Families of those attending children’s classes, Junior Youth Groups, devotions and study circles are especially encouraged to attend this community-building weekend!

No 2018 Winter School

The Colorado East Bahá’í School wants to update you on some exciting programs to be implemented in Colorado in the coming year.

Seasonal Schools across the United States are being encouraged by the U.S. Bahá’í Office of Education and Schools to implement the “Hope & the Family” curriculum in their respective regional areas. This program is to be implemented in neighborhoods that have strong Bahá’í and Community of Interest involvement in the core activities. This series explores how Bahá’ís and the Community of Interest can collaboratively and systematically build capacity through reading their current reality, talking about material and spiritual hopes, and understanding the example of service to the community by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.  For more information on “Hope and the Family” please read the article in the March/April 2017 American Bahá’í.

The committee is working to identify Colorado neighborhoods with potential to begin implementing this series. As our knowledge and resources grow, we plan to expand it to more neighborhoods ready to engage in the process. We are very excited for this new program and the ways in which it will complement the work of the clusters.

To allow us to focus our efforts on this program, we have decided NOT to hold a Winter School this January (2018).  We do intend to hold Summer School in 2018, likely once again on Labor Day weekend at La Foret (not definite yet).

Thank you for your continued to support of the Colorado East Bahá’í School!

Summer School 2017 Registration is Open!

Fostering Unity through Creative Conversations

A kindly tongue is the lodestone of the hearts of men. It is the bread of the spirit, it clotheth the words with meaning, it is the fountain of the light of wisdom and understanding…” (Bahá’u’lláh)

Friday September 1 – Monday, September 4, 2017

Location: La Foret Conference and Retreat Center, Black Forest, CO

31431_1477978035010_5573364_nPlease join us in finding ways to elevate the conversations we have with our friends, neighbors and co-workers, enabling us to connect our hearts to each other and to Bahá’u’lláh. These relationships build the foundation of strong communities.

Everyone is welcome!  Invite the children and their parents who are in your neighborhood children’s classes, invite the junior youth and their parents, invite those who attend devotions and those in your study circles.  Invite those whose homes you visit or those who visit you.

Together we can build communities that are havens of unity!

O ye friends! Fellowship, fellowship! Love, love! Unity, unity! – so that the power of the Bahá’í Cause may appear and become manifest in the world of existence. My thoughts are turned towards you, and my heart leaps within me at your mention. Could ye know how my soul glows with your love, so great a happiness would flood your hearts as to cause you to become enamored with each other. (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, from the Tablets of the Divine Plan)
